Most social impact platforms launch strong and quietly decline — not because the mission weakened, but because the product was designed more for launch than for learning. This scorecard helps you find out which category you're in.
Drawn from our 2026 report When Social Impact Technology Fails, the scorecard evaluates your platform across six core dimensions:
- Budget strategy — Are resources allocated for ongoing stewardship, or just the build?
- Staff capacity — Does your team have bandwidth to respond to user feedback?
- Data hygiene — Is your underlying data current, verified, and worker-friendly?
- User journey — Have real users been involved in shaping and testing the experience?
- User experience — Does the platform work on mobile? Is it fast? Is it intuitive?
- AI integration — Is AI being used to reduce friction — or just added as a feature?
How to score
Each category is scored 1–5. A score of 1 means the platform is actively depreciating. A 3 means you're on a treadmill — staying in place. A 5 means your platform is built to learn and grow. Scores below 25 signal a depreciation cycle in progress.
Commercial product techniques are insufficient for transformational social impact work. Organizations driving real workforce connection need online tools that support — not hinder — staff workflows and user aspirations.
