Helping Houston Students Take the Next Step with MorePathways

Together, we created a clearer and more supportive journey from career exploration to action. The platform's primary call to action is not simply "Apply" or "Learn More." It is "Help me get started."

Helping Houston Students Take the Next Step with MorePathways

Earlier this spring, WhereWeGo partnered with BridgeYear to relaunch MorePathways.org, a career exploration and training platform designed to help Houston-area students move from wondering what they could do to understanding exactly how to get started.

BridgeYear works directly with students, educators, employers, and training providers to help young people experience careers, understand their options, and connect with affordable training that can lead to long-term economic stability. Their team's deep knowledge of Houston's students and workforce shaped every part of the platform.

Together, we created a clearer and more supportive journey from career exploration to action. The platform's primary call to action is not simply "Apply" or "Learn More." It is "Help me get started."

The early response has been exciting:

  • 1 in 4 visitors are opting in to receive help starting a training opportunity connected to a locally in-demand career.
  • 95% of visitors prompted to create a profile successfully complete one.
  • BridgeYear has vetted 76 in-demand careers and created actionable next steps connected to 196 Houston-area training programs.

This partnership is a powerful example of why we started WhereWeGo: to combine thoughtful design and technology with the expertise of people who deeply understand their communities, and to build tools that help people take meaningful next steps in their careers.

A huge thank-you to Fabeah N., Victoria Chen, and the entire BridgeYear team for being such thoughtful and joyful partners. I am also grateful to Leah Lykins, David Ryan, and Reza Rad for their work!

We are incredibly proud of what we built together, but this launch is only the beginning. WhereWeGo and BridgeYear will continue adding new features, learning from how students use the platform, and stewarding MorePathways into the future.
